People who experience challenges with a too-wide board, where it can be difficult to get the paddle out over the edge without standing unevenly or hitting the SUP edge, will avoid this with the Elite SUP model. The Story Elite SUP is built with speed, strength, and stiffness in mind. The board is constructed with so-called double PVC plastic rails (sides). The sides consist of a mandatory inner PVC layer that seals the board's top and bottom, followed by a wider outer layer that strengthens the seal and stiffens the construction. The sides of a double rail SUP like this can withstand impacts and scratches without puncturing. Additionally, the board holds air better (often for several months if stored in the shade). Safety on the water is great, and the risk of puncture is low. A towing eye is mounted on the front if you need rescue.
With its reinforced sidewall structure, Story Elite can handle an incredibly high pressure. We recommend pumping your SUP to the maximum limit so that the board is as stiff as possible. It is under extremely high pressure that the board shows its full potential. You should not be afraid to pump the board too much; it can handle much more than you think.
The fin on Story Elite is a real SUP fin. It is deep and directionally stable but with a lot of rake (backward tilt) to soften turns. The fin is centrally located and without speed-reducing side fins. The fin fits into a US fin box where the location can be adjusted forward and backward to make the board more directionally stable or lively. You also have the option to mount a fin of your choice.
The SUP package includes a three-piece aluminum paddle with a lightweight offset and therefore an effective attack angle in the water. The blade is made of hard plastic. It can be easily disassembled so it does not take up much space in the bag or car. The paddle can be adjusted in height with a quick release system. The package also includes a safety leash so the board does not drift away from you when you fall in the water. The pump is a fast double action pump that blows air both when you pull the handle up and push it down. The whole thing can be stored in the spacious carry bag.
